What the NX needs to have a place along side the PS4/XB1

nx-consoleIt’s coming….you can almost taste it, the reveal of the NX feels so close you can almost taste it. The latest rumour is that it will be revealed sometime this coming week as advised by investment company Macquarie, who feel that the supposed price for the NX is a “major disappointment”. I personally cannot agree with that statement, since when has a price point of $300-$350 been “majorly disappointing” for a brand new console? Granted, we do not know what the console is or what features it might have but we would all like to assume that Nintendo have learned from recent mistakes and the NX will not suffer the same fate as the Wii U. If the NX is to stand along side the PS4 and the Xbox One, it simply cannot be anything like the Wii U. Read on

We don’t need the PS4 Pro or the Xbox Scorpio

ps4-proThe PS4 and the Xbox One are both wonderful machines, never before have we ever been able to feel so immersed in our games as much as we are now because of these two consoles. They are both without doubt technological masterpieces in gaming and there is no reason for anybody to disagree with that statement. What more could we ask for out of these two machines? Well how about some games? Honestly, it feels to me like the PS4 and the Xbox One are capable of such great things but have very little to show for it in the way of games…and it sucks! What sucks even more is that they already have newer consoles coming out soon to “replace” them. Read on

#OperationPlatinum – Progress so far

wii u news, what's newBayonetta 2 is technically a second party game since Nintendo are publishing it, but the developers Platinum Games are still a third party developer so the success of the game will show that Nintendo gamers DO buy mature third party games. They buy third party games that are fun to play and are brimming with quality, not games that are ported over and missing half the games features and sometimes drop to around 20 frames per second. #OperationPlatinum is not just a good way to shove Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot’s words back in his face, it is a way to get Bayonetta 2 the recognition it deserves and gives Nintendo a platform in which to build with relationships with third party developers/publishers in the future. Why you should be pumped for Bayonetta 2

wii u news, what's newNever before in all my life have I had the misfortune to witness such thread bare third party support on a Nintendo home console. Never before has the Wii U needed a game to release like Bayonetta 2, one of the most highly anticipated titles to release on any console in the run up to Christmas. The Wii U is far from dead with a bunch of exclusive titles coming out by the end of the year and into 2015 but right around the corner (and already out in Japan) Bayonetta 2 will be releasing in North America and Europe on October 24th. The game promises a boat load of content, addictive gameplay and will have you plug dozens and dozens of hours into it. A true core gamers gaming masterpiece. Read on

What the successor to the Wii U must have

wii u news, what's newWhatever happens between now and the next few years, there is no doubt that Nintendo are working on their new home console. A while ago it was revealed that Nintendo had a restructure and combined their handheld and home console divisions so that they are unified. This raised a lot of questions about new hardware and Iwata said that for Nintendo’s next generation of consoles: “Home consoles and handheld devices will no longer be completely different and they will become like brothers in a family of systems.” Whatever Iwata decides to do with Nintendo’s next home console, there are some things it must have that the Wii U did/does not have. The Wii U is worth the punt

wii u news, what's newWith a lot of excellent 8th generation games being released for all consoles for the rest of this year and next year, we are sure to receive a fair share of doom and gloom articles as well. No one can deny that each of the three home consoles from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have areas where they can be improved but what everyone should be focusing on are the games that each system has or will have. It goes without saying that the one reason you should choose a particular console to own over other consoles is because of the exclusive games you will be able to play on that system. It has always been the reason I buy Nintendo consoles. Read on

Lack of 3rd party support on Wii U – It’s just one excuse after another

wii u news, what's new3rd party support has been severely lacking on the Wii U, most recently Ubisoft have claimed that Nintendo gamers do not buy mature games like Assassins Creed and are only interested in games like Just Dance. Big companies like Ubisoft and EA seem to think that we will believe anything that comes out of their PR spinning mouths and that we will not ever inherit the knowledge to know they are bending the truth. The excuses for 3rd party companies not to bring their multiplatform games to the Wii U just keep piling in, will we ever see Nintendo bridge the gap with third parties? Read on
